Hello and Welcome

The idea behind this blog is to produce an online album or gallery of some the digital photographs I have taken on the island of Anglesey in North Wales, as well as providing a little background information to some of my favourite locations in the area.

I'm going to start with some pictures of the most easterly part of the whole island, Penmon Point, which also happens to be one of my most favourite places.

This picture was taken on a late summer's evening in July and shows the unmanned Penmon Lighthouse and Puffin Island. The lighthouse sounds a bell that echoes around the area warning boats about the shallow rocky waters.

Here's the lighthouse in closeup reflecting the sun that was slowly sinking behind the horizon.

And here's the sun setting in the west with the pebbles of the beach berm in the foreground. Here's a map of the area - double-click it to make it bigger.
